How do you moisturize your skin when using retinol?

There is only one way to answer this question: intensely! We can and should even do this every day during our morning routine. In addition, we can also moisturize our skin in our evening grooming on days when we are not applying retinol. Combine evening moisturizing with skin regeneration. How to do this in practice?

An evening treatment during retinol application (on days when we don't apply retinol, of course) might look like this: a moisturizing toner, a moisturizing essence, a restructuring serum such as one with ceramides, and finally a nourishing cream.

An example of a retinol morning routine: moisturizing toner, moisturizing essence, moisturizing serum, moisturizing cream and SFP50 filter cream. Of course, not all of these ingredients need to be used every day; sometimes, despite our desire, we don't have time. In the basic version, a toner and moisturizer and a cream with an SPF filter, for example, are enough.

You can't do without SPF.

Why is sun protection so important when using retinol? Because this ingredient reaches the dermis and accelerates its renewal. However, the exfoliation and renewal processes that occur in the epidermis make the skin more susceptible to the sun's rays. If we do not use effective high-level sun protection, the likelihood of skin pigmentation increases significantly.

That's why daily use of sunscreen (SPF 50) during retinol application is absolutely essential. During this time we also try to avoid the sun and in case, for example, a trip to a place with a lot of sunlight is planned, we stop taking retinol 2-3 weeks earlier.
