Spring and summer are the best times to use vitamin C products because UV rays reduce the amount of vitamin C in the skin and increase the formation of harmful free radicals. The vitamin will work to restore this balance and counteract the free radicals that alter skin structure and cause long-term damage such as wrinkles and nasty age spots.

Effects of Vitamin C

Vitamin C increases and protects the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, which makes the skin firmer and more elastic. Thus, vitamin C is a very effective anti-aging ingredient!

Vitamin C counteracts and prevents pigment changes and brightens existing pigment and skin scars from acne and pimples.

In addition, Vitamin C provides additional sun protection when used in conjunction with your daily sunscreen factor.

To protect and maintain healthy skin, everyone should use some form of antioxidant in their skin care routine. But even those with mature, rougher skin, with or without sun damage, will benefit greatly from this antioxidant!

Rules to keep in mind

If you follow these rules, you'll have a lot of fun using vitamin C cosmetics and see results faster:

Always apply sunscreen on top of vitamin C products when you go outside during the day.

Store open vitamin C product in a dry, dark and cool place, preferably in the refrigerator.

If the product turns yellow, this is a sign of oxidation, but it is safe to use.

Do not mix vitamin C and retinol, they will destroy each other.

Be careful when using products with glycolic acid (AHA). Glycolic acid can cause vitamin C to lose its effect. Use these two ingredients at different times of the day or alternately every other day.

If you have sensitive skin, you should exercise caution when using vitamin C and other acids in your daily skin care routine. Use different acids alternately every other day to avoid overstimulation and irritation.

If you are using a vitamin C serum, a few drops are sufficient with each application. Don't overdo the vitamin C dosage!

For a softer application, mix Vitamin C serum with a mild toner, serum or moisturizer.

Vitamin C is an unstable vitamin, so factors such as packaging, dosage, and choosing the right type of vitamin C product are very important for vitamin C products to have the desired effect on your skin.
