What are probiotics?

Probiotics are supplements or products containing viable microorganisms that promote healthy bacterial flora. Therefore, it is common to take probiotic supplements to, for example, balance the intestinal flora and help digestion, but this is not the only area of application. Our entire body, including our skin, is made up of different kinds of microorganisms, and we have about as many bacterial cells as our body cells. This set of microorganisms is called the microbiome and makes up a large part of our health.

Probiotics in skin care
