The best care to prevent skin aging

When do you usually notice the first wrinkles?

There is no specific answer to this question, it is different for everyone. By the age of 30, most people will notice the first wrinkles. While your genetics primarily determine your skin texture, sun exposure is a major cause of skin aging, especially in fair-skinned people.

The following steps effectively prevent skin aging.

Sun protection

Prevention is easier than fix! Sun protection is the number 1 defense against solar aging. Ideally, you should also use sunscreen in the winter, as well as on cloudy days. We also recommend limiting sun exposure and avoiding sunbathing entirely.

This does not mean that you have to hide in your room and never leave it. You can still enjoy outdoor activities. The first step, of course, is to apply sunscreen every day, at least on your face and neck. If you know you're going to be walking longer, apply the cream to the rest of your body as well.

If sunscreens always leave a white film on you, we recommend you try chemical sun protection.

The right moisturizer

The high moisture content of the skin tightens it and gives the skin firmness. Even a slight loss of moisture can highlight fine lines and wrinkles and make the skin look tired.

Good skin care gives the skin the necessary hydration and creates a protective layer of moisture on the skin. If you're new to skincare, try a moisturizing essence and then a nourishing moisturizer that keeps your skin from losing more moisture.

In particular, you should keep a close eye on moisturizing ingredients in your skin care regimen. Hyaluronic acid and glycerin are known to increase the moisture content of the skin, making it softer and more radiant.

Beta-glucan moisturizes even more effectively than hyaluronic acid and also prevents further moisture loss. It makes the skin smooth, helps to smooth fine wrinkles. It also protects the natural skin barrier so it is suitable even for irritated skin. Niacinamide also prevents moisture loss and dehydration of the skin as it stimulates the natural production of skin firming ceramides.

Anti-aging care

In addition to SPF and moisturizer, you can choose cosmetics containing effective ingredients to reduce visible skin aging.

Collagen is the most important structural protein in our body. Without collagen, there would be nothing to hold the cells together. When we are young, the body produces collagen quickly.

Retinol increases collagen levels in the skin by inhibiting enzymes in the skin that break down collagen. Retinol also increases cell turnover (the rate at which old skin cells are replaced with new ones). Finally, retinol is also an antioxidant. It prevents skin damage from reactive free radicals produced by UV exposure or environmental toxins.

Retinol, like AHAs, can make skin more prone to sunburn. So use sunscreen every day, especially when using retinol, to prevent further sun damage to your skin.

Vitamin C is an important part of collagen production and is therefore an excellent ingredient for preventing skin aging. In addition, it provides a more even complexion by lightening age spots.
