Centella

Centella is actually the name of the plant Centella asiatica, which is its scientific name. Ingredient lists usually use this scientific name, but the plant is also called "tiger grass."

Properties in skin care

Calming effect

Centella is perhaps best known for its soothing properties and ability to relieve irritation. Considering that we can all have sensitive skin from time to time and that pollution, stress and ultraviolet rays can cause irritation, this is something that most people can benefit from. In addition, centella has an anti-inflammatory effect and therefore is great for soothing and preventing acne and redness.

Anti-aging effect

Contaminated air and UV rays can not only make the skin more sensitive, but also accelerate skin aging due to free radical damage. Fortunately, centella is rich in antioxidants, which help to neutralize them and thus protect skin cells from this type of damage. Thus, centella is ideal for use in your morning routine to keep your skin healthy and youthful!

Skin regeneration

In addition, centella also contains madecassoside, which combines well with antioxidants, improves circulation and strengthens the skin barrier. This, in turn, means that damaged skin cells from wounds or eczema can heal faster and the appearance of scars will be minimized.

Nourishing the skin

In addition, superplant is also rich in beneficial nutrients that the skin likes. Among other things, centella contains amino acids, fatty acids, beta-carotene and vitamins B and C, which are important for skin elasticity. Last but not least, centella also contains a substance called asiaticoside, which helps stimulate the skin's production of collagen. All of these substances will work with various skin problems and together contribute to keeping the skin smooth and supple.
