Hyaluronic acid toners or serums and barrier-enhancing creams are also ideal for the neck and décolleté, as long as they are not too intense.
How to care for the neck and décolleté area in case of acne and hyperpigmentation?
If acne affects not only the face, but also, for example, the chest area, then you can use salicylic acid, centella asiatica, etc. But if acne is really concentrated only on the face, then there is no need to use salicylic acid toner on the neck. Of course, you can use a chemical peel, but for the neck and décolleté (without acne), we recommend products with AHA acid. If you use cosmetics with AHA acid, you can use it not only on the face, but also specifically on the neck and décolleté.
Products with AHA acid not only chemically exfoliate, but also stimulate cell regeneration and give the skin a healthy glow.
Anyone who also has a tendency to hyperpigmentation in the décolleté area, for example due to UV radiation, can use products with vitamin C or niacinamide.
What cosmetics should not be used to care for the neck and décolleté?
What we do not recommend for the neck is retinol, especially at higher concentrations of 0.5% - 1%. Retinol can cause wrinkles and blemishes on the neck. Therefore, be careful when using retinol or use only a low concentration.
Also, don't forget to use sunscreen around your neck and décolleté.
What can special "neck creams" do and do I really need them?
Now there are special creams and serums for the neck and décolleté, and we want to be honest: you don't really need them. Many of these products are certainly not bad and moisturize the skin and give it a slight glow, but a good moisturizer can do just that.
We recommend being careful not to use products that are too rich or oily, but a facial moisturizer is also a good option for the neck and décolleté. For neck care, use the serum that you use for the face.
