Vegan Cosmetics

Vegan cosmetics have been very popular for several years now. Why? We often buy vegan cosmetics because of the prevailing "being vegan" fashion, but that's not the only reason.

Every year, consumer awareness increases. People who decide to buy cosmetics are not throwing any cream in the basket, but want cosmetics that have a natural composition, are not tested on animals and are safe for the environment. Do vegan cosmetics provide all three functions? You will find the answer later in the article.

Vegan cosmetics, what does it mean?

In order for a cosmetic product to be called "vegan", it must meet several criteria. First of all - such a product cannot contain components of animal origin or animal by-products. Secondly, substances contained in vegan cosmetics cannot be tested on animals. Thirdly, the final product cannot be tested on animals.

The label of vegan cosmetics often contains a "cruelty-free" indication or information. For us this is a sign that the cosmetics are created in harmony with nature. That is why we will not find animal ingredients in plant-based cosmetics, but we will find plant and mineral ingredients.

What ingredients cannot be found in vegan cosmetics?

As we have already mentioned, vegan cosmetics are cosmetics that do not contain animal substances. However, does everyone know exactly what those ingredients include?

Animal ingredients include, but are not limited to:

  • honey, wax, royal jelly
  • Collagen
  • elastin
  • keratin
  • lanolin
  • silk
  • milk
  • colostrum
  • stearic acid
  • chitosan
  • glycerin (can also be of vegetable origin)
  • snail slime

How can you tell if a cosmetic product is vegan?

The easiest way to recognize vegan cosmetics is by the labeling on the packaging. Vegan products are labeled with vegan certificates, as well as certificates stating that they are natural and organic products.

So what labels to look for? Labels such as: "Cruelty-free," "Vegan," and the "Rabbit" label. This label requires compliance, so you can be sure that your cosmetics definitely contain a vegan formula.

Myths about vegan cosmetics

Vegan cosmetics, while very popular among consumers, are products around which many myths have arisen - harmful and misleading to those less experienced. In public opinion there is different information about them, sometimes contradictory and sometimes true, so now we will try to dispel some doubts about them.

Vegan cosmetics are cosmetics with a natural composition - Myth

Vegan cosmetics are in fact characterized by a high content of active ingredients that are natural and environmentally friendly. However, we should not forget that the list does not end there. In addition to the active ingredients, these cosmetics, like other cosmetics, include among others preservatives, which of course can be of natural origin, but unfortunately more often we are dealing with substances of synthetic origin.

Vegan cosmetics do not irritate the skin - MYTH

Due to the fact that vegan products have a more natural composition than other cosmetics, it is believed that they are more suitable for sensitive and allergic skin. This is not entirely true. Both substances of natural and synthetic origin can cause allergic reactions on our skin. However, this is an individual matter.

Every cosmetic that has not been tested on animals is vegan - MYTH

Cosmetics that are not tested on animals do not have to be vegan. Examples include cosmetic products that contain animal substances obtained without harm to animals.

Vegan cosmetics are more expensive than other cosmetics - MYTH

At the beginning of the fashion for plant-based cosmetics, prices may have varied greatly. However, more and more companies are choosing to produce vegan cosmetics, and their offerings are now very broad, making vegan cosmetics more affordable.

The metal ball applicator provides a perfect gua sha effect. It also makes it easier for the ingredients to penetrate.

A cream based on green tea water (matcha instead of purified water) to provide extra hydration and antioxidants to the skin. The cream protects skin from free radicals and prevents the signs of aging.

Enriched with patented probiotics, it strengthens the skin barrier and protects it from external influences; and thanks to its 5 types of hyaluronic acid it provides deep and long-lasting hydration to the skin.

Its light yogurt-like texture creates a moisturizing layer that protects the skin.

CHASIN' RABBITS ALL ABOUT GLOW MULTI-BALM

A multifunctional moisturizing balm to moisturize and comfort your face, neck and lips with one product. It leaves a film of moisturizing oils (sweet almond and shea butter) on the skin, which deeply moisturizes the skin, giving it a radiant effect.

The balm melts on contact with the skin, giving it a healthy, moisturized look and natural glow, which can also be used as a highlighter to highlight certain areas of the face (when grooming the skin).
