5 Tips to Soothe Flushed and Tired Skin

Stress can affect your entire body. The result can be hair loss as well as even skin problems, which ultimately leads to even more stress. That's why today we've put together some tips for stressed skin and how you can quickly and effectively soothe your skin.

1. Tiger grass against redness

Stressed skin, whether due to emotional stress, environmental influences such as cold weather or poor nutrition, often reacts with redness and acne/inflammation. Our favorite active ingredient against this redness is tiger grass extract (also known as Centella asiatica).

2. The less, the better

Stressed skin can be caused by too many products containing too many ingredients. Every skin has a different tolerance for this, and while many people have no problem with the 10-step skin care routine, others may react with redness or irritation. We recommend that you use products that are low in ingredients, contain no dyes or fragrances and do not irritate your skin unnecessarily. Also, during this phase, you should use minimal products and remove from your regimen anything you don't really need. Skin often recovers very quickly after stress, and you can use your favorite products again without any problems. Choose products from the Korean brands Purito and Make Pre:m, which have optimal ingredient formulations.

3. Makeup-free days

With stressed skin, it also makes sense to have makeup-free days from time to time. The cashiers at the supermarket don't care if you're wearing makeup or not.  And even if you're not: our skin health should always be a priority, and makeup-free days shouldn't be a problem at work either. We can only encourage everyone to go out without makeup, even if it's difficult at first. Your skin will thank you for it.

4. Cleanse your skin particularly gently

Anyone with stressed skin should take extra gentle care of all areas of their skin. Of course, this also applies to cleansing your face. Avoid rubbing your skin, and it's best to use products that gently wash away makeup from your skin, thoroughly remove dirt and sebum, and don't cause irritation. 

5. Products that strengthen the skin barrier

Finally, with stressed skin, it is always important to strengthen the skin barrier and thereby help the skin to heal itself. This is done, for example, with prebiotics and probiotics, which support the skin's natural microbiome and thus help the skin to better withstand harmful external influences.
