Skin problem number 1: malnutrition

You are what you eat - you have probably heard this phrase many times. But has it made you think about your diet and how it can affect the look of your skin? Our skin reflects not only how we live, but above all what we eat, so if we care about its flawless appearance, we must first of all take care of what gets on our plates every day. Eliminate what hurts the most: processed foods, high amounts of sugar and salt, trans fats, preservatives, artificial colors and flavor enhancers. And bet on something that can provide the skin with the necessary vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and antioxidants. Therefore, your daily menu should include a large number of vegetables, fruits and legumes, whole grains, nuts, seeds and fish. Good quality vegetable oils should also be available, such as flaxseed, lean meats, eggs, and dairy products. It is worth betting on good quality food products and start reading their composition on labels. Fast foods, chips, salty snacks, sweetened juices and sodas, sweets, low-quality meats, sweet yogurts, etc. should be the least in the diet. It is enough to start gradually eliminating them from the diet to notice positive changes. It is also worth limiting the amount of coffee you drink to 2-3 cups a day, and instead of strong black tea, drink green tea, rooibos or herbal tea.

It is important not only what we eat, but also how we eat it. Therefore, try to remember the regularity of meals taken, every 3-4 hours, starting with a nutritious breakfast and ending with a light dinner.

Skin problem #2: Lack of sleep

Sleep is our greatest friend, and its absence is our greatest enemy. Therefore, it is worth taking care to sleep well and spend at least 6-8 hours sleeping. Why is it so important? When you sleep, many important processes take place in your skin, including regeneration, which is extremely important for its beautiful appearance. During the night's rest, the skin is also cleansed of toxins, and the blood flowing to the skin saturates it with oxygen. By refusing normal sleep, you expose your skin to puffiness and dark circles under the eyes and weaken its natural protective barrier. You are not helping the skin to detoxify, rest and give time for an intensive process of renewal and regeneration. You are also depriving your skin of the optimal nourishment that you apply every night in creams and lotions. Because when you sleep too little, the skin cells are not able to fully get enough of them. Lack of sleep also means your body doesn't have enough time to rest.

Complexion problem #3: Lack of water

Our body is mainly made up of water. It is found in every cell of your body and performs extremely important functions. It is responsible, among other things, for maintaining the correct body temperature, participates in the processes of metabolism and digestion, affects the proper functioning of internal organs. The role of water is also to remove toxins and other harmful substances from the body, as well as to provide the proper level of skin hydration. When there is not enough water, the skin begins to lose radiance and moisture, becomes flabby, loses its beautiful color, elasticity and firmness. Pimples, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes may appear on it. Dehydrated skin will also feel tight, itchy, and irritated. If you don't want this to happen, or if your skin is in that condition at the moment, make sure it's properly hydrated. Drink at least 2-3 liters of water a day, but also be mindful of external hydration. Drinking water enters the skin at the very end, primarily supporting the proper functioning of the internal organs.

Skin Problem #4: Stress

Stress can be good and beneficial. He motivates us to action and is often an inseparable companion in the most important moments of life. However, there are situations when stress begins to negatively affect our health, the appearance of skin and hair, and overall well-being. When dealing with chronic stress, you may notice a rash of imperfections on the skin, feel its increased sensitivity, which will be accompanied by burning and itching. The result of stress will also be excessive drying or excessive production of sebum, loss of radiance and healthy color, elasticity and firmness. All this will be due to stress, which causes a number of reactions in our body, including the formation of free radicals. And their action is first seen on the skin. To avoid long-term stress, you should look for a balance between professional and personal life, allocate time for relaxation and rest, and devote at least 30 minutes to physical activity every day.

Skin problem #5: UV radiation

Wrinkles, discolouration, irritation, loss of firmness and elasticity of the skin, accelerated skin aging processes are just some of the symptoms of the negative effects of UV radiation on the skin. And this applies to both UVA radiation penetrating into the deep layers of the skin, and UVB radiation acting mainly on its surface. What is extremely important - we deal with UVA radiation all year round, and not just in summer. Therefore, the skin needs daily protection from its effects, which you can provide it with the help of cosmetics with protective filters. Remember that sun protection is not just a cosmetics marketing gimmick! Ultraviolet radiation really damages the collagen and elastin fibers of the skin, promotes the formation of free radicals that are toxic to the skin. It also accelerates the process of photoaging of the skin, and in very severe cases is one of the causes of melanoma, a type of skin cancer. Therefore, every day, regardless of the season, apply cosmetics with protective filters to exposed areas of the body. And in the summer, make sure that your sunbathing is healthy and safe. Also, ditch the tanning beds and realize that too much tanning only makes you look older.

Summary

The worst enemies of your skin are also stimulants: cigarettes and alcohol, as well as improper care, which is easily achieved by using low-quality cosmetics with dubious caring properties. Therefore, if you want to have beautiful skin, give up all stimulants, eliminate the enemies mentioned in today's post and focus on quality natural cosmetics, which should be the basis of your daily care.
