What is micellar water?

Micellar water is a type of facial cleanser that removes makeup and dirt from the skin and often not only cleanses but also tones and hydrates the skin. You pour micellar water onto a cotton pad and wipe your face with it. Technically, it's a bit like makeup wipes.

How does micellar water work?

Micellar water should have two key components: water and surfactants. Surfactant molecules consist of two parts: a hydrophilic head and a lipophilic tail. The hydrophilic part loves water (and repels oil), while the lipophilic part seeks the company of oil, fat, and impurities (and repels water).
